Residence Renovation in Mykonos

The KS Project architectural practice of Mykonos embarked on the study, design and renovation of a special residence in the area of Pouli, which led to the unique name “Birdhouse”.

As part of the overall renovation, our team set the fundamental project objectives – the complete reinvention of the residence’s original structure, and the creation of areas that offer absolute flexibility. Thus, our architectural proposal ensured that heavy emphasis was placed on utilizing all the currently unused spaces, as well as achieving maximum functionality, so that the new residence would fully meet the requirements of its owners, both now and in the future.

Through a series of innovative ideas in architectural design and decoration we proposed and implemented, an impressive open-plan space was formed hosting the kitchen and the living room, while giving the residence a sense of subtle luxury. Furthermore, the clean lines, the materials’ color palette and, above all, the employment of natural light entering the apartment, contribute to the creation of a cozy and tranquil ambience.

However, the name of the house was not the only thing inspired by the area of Pouli in Mykonos; the style of the building itself draws on elements and harmonizes perfectly with its surrounding natural landscape. Designed to challenge the visitor in a continuous dialogue with nature and the exterior environment, the Birdhouse manages to create an enriching and highly stimulating experience for the people it hosts.

Our team’s role was pivotal in all phases of the project: from studying and designing the architectural proposal for the remodeling of the building, to renovating the existing parts, constructing the additional spaces and supervising all the work carried out.
